Human Rights movie night - "Seoul Train"
Our third human rights movie night: "Seoul Train" is a gripping documentary into the life and death of Koreans who try to escape their homeland to China or through China to a third country. They are supported by a secret "Underground Railroad", created by a group of multinational activists, who help the refugees with safe houses and escape routes on their daring escapes to freedom over hundreds, sometimes thousands of kilometres of Chinese territory. An odyssey where betrayal and deceit lurk around every corner, and the price of getting caught likely means death.
After the movie there was the opportunity to talk to members of Amnesty International who work on North Korea.
