LGBTI Rights in Cameroon

Sunday the 23rd March 2014

As part of the current national Amnesty campaign Love Is Not a Crime, supporting the rights of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Intersex (LGBTI) people in Cameroon, the group held a sandwich board, signature collecting action at the world famous Berlin Mauer Park on Sunday.

After preparing ourselves for this difficult subject, at our last group meeting and by reading the available literature, the action was a great success. For approximately two hours our three teams distributed dozens of flyers and numerous colourful campaign buttons to a receptive public and 156 signatures were collected.

The weather wasn't fantastic, but at least it remained dry, and everyone agreed that the Mauer Park is a great location and that the action should be repeated soon.

The action was also filmed by a team from „Draufsicht" a young, from the Solidarity Service International (Sodi) supported, editorial team.

A big thank you to Gib (photographer), Laurie, Helena, Friederike, Connie, Carla, Ursula and Cecilia.
