In mid-April, we collected a fantastic 261 signatures for Ebrima B. Manneh, a Gambian journalist who was arrested in July 2006 and has been held incommunicado and without trial ever since, even though a West African regional court has called for his release. In addition to the stand, we had at least two pairs of people walking around with "sandwich boards".
As this approach proved so successful, we repeated it on 4 May at Kollwitzplatz, collecting a further 256 signatures. These have since been handed over to the regional coordinator, who was most impressed. Thanks to everyone who took part, and special thanks to Gib for driving around all the material!
