The group again organised an action bringing attention to the failure of the Gambian government to account for the disappearance of the journalist Ebrima Manneh in 2006, and to protest against the arrest, torture and imprisonment of three leading opposition politicians. The action took place on 24th September at the Kollwitzplatz market.
10 group members participated in the action and 290 signatures were collected on petitions addressed to the Gambian government.
Unfortunately, the human rights situation in Gambia continues to deteriorate. A large number of members of the political opposition have been arrested in the run-up to elections in December 2016, accompanied by a crackdown on journalists and the media, including on-line media.
