"Wo ist Ebrima B. Manneh?" ("Where is Ebrima B. Manneh?") is a question group 1312 has been asking for over a year now. Ebrima B. Manneh is a journalist from The Gambia who was arrested by plain-clothes security agents at the offices of the newspaper The Daily Observer in Banjul, the capital of the Gambia, in 2006. Since then, there has been no information about his whereabouts or the reason for his arrest.
Amnesty Internatioal "adopted" Ebrima Manneh as individual case shortly afterwards, and group 1312 started to actively campaign for Ebrima Manneh in April 2013. For example, we have asked the Gambian Government to inform about Mr Manneh's whereabouts and to implement a ruling of the Court of Justice of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) which ordered Mr Manneh's immediate release.
On Saturday 17 May 2014 at Südstern, the group collected 292 signatures on behalf of Mr Manneh, for a petition that will be sent to The Gambia's Minister of Foreign Affairs.
Thank you to everyone who signed our petition and was present at the stand!
