Stand at Fichtenberg Oberschule, Steglitz, on Friday 19 September 2014

Fichtenberg Oberschule invited us to have a stand at their project day on the subject of war and peace. During a 3-hour-shift, we collected a total of 147 signatures against the war crimes committed by Boko Haram in Nigeria. The students (aged between 12 and 18) were very interested and responsive.

We also used our Amnesty wheel of fortune for the first time. It was a great success. The children loved it and some of the parents and teachers also had a go. The idea is that everyone who turns the wheel “wins” either a task (like writing an Amnesty postcard) or a prize (a copy of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, for instance).

Thank you to Gib, Susannah and Verena for their help and to Fichtenberg Oberschule for their invitation!
